Clearance Management is a school admin-managed system that keeps parent data up to date on whether they have approved clearance.
Schools manage the submission process and listing any requirements independently; once a parent submits their background check for clearance, School Admins can add a status, notes, and documents to the parent's account in School Signals.
Parent's View
Parents who have activated their accounts can view their clearance status in My Account > Profile > Clearance. No page is shown if School Admin has not submitted anything. In other words, parents do not see just an empty page.
If clearance is Approved, parents see the approved status. If a parent's clearance is pending, they will see Pending as their status and can view any notes added by the school admin explaining what is required. If clearance is denied, Denied will appear as the status, along with any admin notes about next steps or reasons for denial. Expired status appears when the associated clearance date for validity has expired.
Notifications
Parents are automatically notified before their clearance is about to expire.
School Admin otherwise triggers notifications. When the School Admin completes an update to the parent's clearance status and/or adds notes, they click the Notify Parent button. This sends out an email and app push notification to the parent. Clearance Management does not trigger text messages at this time.
