Anonymous Form Options
School Signals offers two privacy settings for form submissions. Fully Anonymous forms never record who submitted them, while Obfuscated Anonymous forms appear anonymous but keep an internal record for security and support purposes, allowing features like edit access and one submission per user. Both protect user privacy and prevent staff access to submitter identities.
Comparison: Fully Anonymous vs. Obfuscated Anonymous
Feature | Fully Anonymous | Obfuscated Anonymous |
Identity Recorded | No record is kept | Internal record stored for security and support only |
User Visible to School Admin | No | No |
Limit Submissions per User | Not available | Available |
Allow Edits to Submissions | Not available | Available |
Student Selection | Not supported | Not supported |
Best For | Complete privacy surveys or feedback | Forms that need to be limited to one submission only. Forms that benefit from editing rights. |
Considerations Before Setting the Anonymous Form
Both anonymous settings require users to be logged into their School Signals account to submit a response.
If a form is limited to a small subset of users (for example, a small group or committee), anonymity may be limited in practice, since responses could be identifiable by context even though names are not shown.
