Can I restrict posting rights?
Updated over 6 months ago

As an admin you will set the posting user rights for parents/guardians. On the School Feed page, go to Feed Mgmt > Posting Rights.

By default, the Feed settings are configured for parents/guardians to be allowed to make posts to the grades and classrooms that their children attend, and groups parents are members of.

To adjust the permission settings, first choose if parents/guardians in general are allowed to post to the School Feed.

Selecting Yes allows parents to post to the feed. Next, carefully define the parents/guardians user rights in more detail. The presented questions are:

  • School news posts by parents

  • School level posts by parents (multi-grade clusters)

  • Grade level posts by parents

  • Classroom posts by parents (note: setting this to no blocks parents from being able to participate in the classroom feed)

  • Group posts by parents (note: setting this to no blocks parents from being able to participate in the group feed)

Selecting No shuts down parents/guardians ability to post to the School Feed, Classroom Feed(s), Group Feed(s), and to add Photo Galleries and photos to a gallery. Note that parents can still leave comments and heart posts and photos.

We encourage an open school communication that allows parents to participate in the feed. Should unwanted communication take place, consider blocking an individual user rather than an entire group of users.

Additionally, commenting can be turned off individually per post.
