How do I check how the system works for different users?

School Signals has several user types. When you sign up for a free trial, you will get immediate access to a demo school. This demo school is created exclusively for you, and you can immediately test how the system works.

The key aspect of your testing is to gain an understanding of how different users act in the system.

Your test account is for School Admin. When testing a demo school, you can impersonate teacher and parent accounts. Please note that this feature is only available for Demo schools due to account privacy reasons. Here is how to do it.

Go to the demo school's Teacher Accounts or Parent Accounts page. You will see the pages populated for demo accounts ready for your testing. You can decide which account to test and impersonate. Click the demo account's Management menu and select Impersonate.

When you are impersonating a demo user account, you are acting as that user. You can add a profile photo for the user, create posts, add comments, and act as if you are that user.

To exit impersonation mode, navigate to the demo user's My Account and click the Exit Impersonation button.

Please note that system notifications do not go out in demo schools. To test notifications, get your school verified and get started with your school's setup.
