Getting Started: Your Journey from Demo to Launch

Welcome to School Signals! This step-by-step guide outlines your journey from creating your free trial account to launching your school on our platform.


Your free trial lasts 30 days. No payment info is required to get started.


1. Create a Free Trial Account

  • Visit the Plans Page and enter your school’s basic information.

  • Select a plan and submit your details.

  • You’ll receive an email with login instructions shortly after.


2. Explore the Demo School

  • Log in using the instructions provided in your invitation email.

  • You will have immediate access to a demo school to start testing and getting to know features.

  • You can use the Impersonation feature for the demo school to get to know how different user types work.


3. Subscribe to School Signals

  • You can request your actual school setup while keeping access to your demo school for continued testing. Click the blue button: Subscribe to School Signals


4. Begin Setup

  • Your real school status will progress from Draft to Under Review to Setup.

  • One on Setup, you can begin adding your real users and content.

  • For quicker onboarding, please contact us to import accounts to the system from your SIS.

  • Before the official launch,

    • Admins and teachers can login and test the platform.

    • Up to 10 parent accounts can login and test the platform.

    • You can test the notifications with accounts that you mark as verified.

  • The first invoice will be $0 if you are still within your 30-day trial. You can cancel your plan during the free trial and not be charged anything.

  • After the trial, the Setup fee is $20/month per school. The plan-based billing (based on the size of your school and selected plan) begins when you launch. Learn more.


5. Go Live!

  • When you're ready, our team will mark your school as “Launched.”

  • You can mass invite all parents to join the network.

  • Your Demo School access remains available for continued testing and exploration.

  • Ongoing billing will reflect your selected plan and any active schools.


7. Need to Change Your Plan?

You can change your plan at two different points:

  • Before the billing start date: Simply switch your plan from the dashboard.

  • After billing begins: Contact us to request a change. Our team will update your school’s plan and next billing cycle accordingly.
