Getting Started: Your Journey from Demo to Launch

Welcome to School Signals! This step-by-step guide outlines your journey from creating your free trial account to launching your school on our platform.


Your free trial lasts 30 days. No payment info is required to get started.


1. Create a Free Trial Account

  • Visit the Plans Page and enter your school’s basic information.

  • Select a plan and submit your details.

  • You’ll receive an email with login instructions shortly after.


2. Explore the Demo School

  • Log in using the instructions provided in your invitation email.

  • You will have immediate access to a demo school to start testing and getting to know features.

  • You can use the Impersonation feature for the demo school to get to know how different user types work.


3. Complete Customer Verification

  • An onboarding specialist from School Signals will reach out to verify your school.

  • Respond to complete the quick verification process.


4. Request Your School Setup

  • From your Billing Dashboard page, submit a request to add your actual school(s).

  • Our onboarding team will review and approve your request (shows as Pending).


5. School Approved → Begin Setup

  • After approval, your school’s status will change from Pending to Setup.

  • You can now begin adding your real users and content.

  • While your school is in the setup mode:

    • Admins and teachers can test the platform.

    • Up to 10 parents can be added to preview communication tools.

    • You can test the notifications with accounts that you mark as verified.

  • The first invoice will be $0 if you are still within your 30-day trial. After the trial, the Setup fee is $20/month per school.

  • You can cancel your plan during the free trial and not be charged anything.


6. Activate Your Paid Plan

  • Once ready, access your Billing Portal to add your payment information.

  • Your first paid invoice will be generated based on your plan and billing start date.


7. Go Live!

  • When you're ready, our team will mark your school as “Launched.”

  • You now have full access to all features.

  • You can mass invite all parents to join the network.

  • Your Demo School access remains available for continued testing and exploration.

  • Ongoing billing will reflect your selected plan and any active schools.


8. Need to Change Your Plan?

You can change your plan at two different points:

  • Before the billing start date: Simply switch your plan from the dashboard.

  • After billing begins: Contact us to request a change. Our team will update your school’s plan and next billing cycle accordingly.
