I'm trying to add a parent account but the parent's email is taken

The system may not let you add a parent account if it detects that an account already exists with the parent’s email address. Let’s go through the possible cases.

A spouse already has an account using the parent's email

Check whether another family member already has an account using that email, for example, the parent’s spouse. Request a different email address for the parent, since two family members cannot share the same email in School Signals.

The parent may already have an account with another school in your district

The parent may have a child who attends another school using School Signals. If the parent already has an account associated with another school you manage, follow these instructions to add the parent to an additional school.

The parent may have an account with another school outside your district or organization

Please contact us at support@schoolsignals.net or through the chat feature in the Help Center. We will review the account.

Data removal has disconnected the account

While we intend to minimize these cases, there may be a case when a school, a parent account, or student record may have been deleted, but the email address still remains in the system.

Please contact us at support@schoolsignals.net or through the chat feature in the Help Center. We will review the account.

The parent may already have a Teacher/Staff account

Some stakeholders hold dual roles in school. The parent may already have a teacher account associated with the email. At this time, School Signals does not support combined parent/teacher accounts. To evaluate the options, please contact us at support@schoolsignals.net or through the chat feature in the Help Center.
