Access the Interface
Go to the School Feed > Add Post interface, and select Event.
Or, go to the Events page and click 'Add Event' button
Either one of these buttons will open up the same user interface where you can add your event.
Set Audience & Date
Select Audience for the Event.
Add the Event's date, start time and end time.
If the Event is a multi-day event and has the same start and end time each day, toggle on the switch for a multi-day event.
Location
Add the Event's location. This is optional. If you add a full address, the system automatically integrates it with the map feature.
You can also toggle "Event takes place on campus," and you can add the name of the building. The system integrates the map with the school's address. (If your school has multiple locations, and the school account is set with a different address, enter the address rather than using the campus address integrated toggle.)
RSVP
If you want attendees to RSVP to the Event, toggle "Request RSVP." This requests users to RSVP the number of attendees at their party.
If you want to get the list of attendees' names at the party, toggle on "Request attendee names."
The maximum number of attendees defines the maximum number of RSVP "Yes" attendees for the event listing. Note that each user can add up to 10 people to the party. Please verbally restrict the number of attendees if less is allowed.
"Allow RSVP responses up to" setting is to define when the RSVP feature closes for the Event.
Event Admins
Event Admins will receive notifications regarding RSVP responses. Event admins can also manage the event such as make edits to it. These accounts need to be either teacher accounts or school admin accounts.
Title, Description, Images, Documents
Next, add a title for the Event. Keep it short so it will fit nicely to the page.
Add a Description for the Event.
Include a promotional banner image. You can add more than one image. The system will scale the image to fit the space. If you want to omit any margins around the image, use an image that is 825 pixels wide and 490 pixels tall. The system will display a contextual visual from the School Signals image library if you do not add a banner image.
Add documents as attachments to the event listing, if applicable.
Save and Preview
Click the "Save" button.
You can now preview the Event. If everything looks good, click "Publish." Upon publishing the Event, you can announce the Event in the School Feed and set a reminder post to go out as well.
Publish (or Keep as Draft)
If you want to keep editing the Event, click "Edit" to do the necessary editing. Leaving
the interface will save the Event as a Draft.
