A button at the top of the School Feed provides quick access to posts and comments needing review. Using the post's three-dot menu, you can choose between Approve or Keep Private.
Introduction
Administrators can review posts and comments in audience channels that are set to require approval before they become visible to others. Administrators can approve the content, keep it private, edit it, or delete it.
Finding posts and comments that need approval
When there are new posts or comments awaiting approval, a blue Posts/comments for approval » button appears at the top of the School Feed.
Click Posts/comments for approval » to display posts and comments that need review.
Review the posts or comments.
To return to the regular School Feed, click Reset Search (x).
Please note:
The approval button appears when the feed has pending content submitted within the past 14 days.
The button will not appear if there is nothing awaiting approval or if all posts and comments still awaiting approval are more than 14 days old.
This prevents older submissions from keeping the approval button permanently visible.
How to approve a post
Posts awaiting approval display a red Approval required label. Clicking or hovering over the label displays the message: "Administrator approval is required."
To review a post:
Find the post you want to review.
Click the three-dot menu (•••) in the upper-right corner of the post.
Choose one of the following options:
Approve: Approves the post and makes it visible to its intended audience.
Keep Private: Keeps the post private without approving it for publication. The post is no longer counted as awaiting approval.
Edit: Allows the administrator to edit the post.
Delete: Deletes the post.
How to approve a comment
Comments requiring approval follow the same process as posts.
Find the comment awaiting approval.
Open the comment's three-dot menu (•••).
Select Approve, Keep Private, Edit, or Delete.
Approved comments become visible to their intended audience. Comments kept private are no longer counted as awaiting approval.
What happens when I use the "Keep Private" option?
“Keep Private” marks the post/comment as reviewed and keeps the post/comment visible for admins and the author, without publishing it for the larger school community.
The content remains visible to its author and school administrators.
The author can continue to edit or delete their own post or comment.
The content is no longer counted as awaiting approval.
An administrator can approve the private post or comment later.
Posts that have been reviewed and kept private display a Private post label with an information icon. Clicking or hovering over the label displays the message: "Administrator has reviewed this post and set it as private."
Can an author edit or delete a post or comment after approval?
The author's editing permissions depend on whether the content has been approved.
Awaiting approval: The author can edit or delete their own post or comment at any time.
Kept private: The author can edit or delete their own post or comment.
Approved: The author can no longer edit the post or comment, but can still delete it.
These rules apply to both posts and comments.
What if I don't see the approval button above the feed?
The Posts/comments for approval button will not appear when:
There are no posts or comments awaiting approval.
All posts or comments still awaiting approval are more than 14 days old.
The 14-day limit applies only to the approval button. It does not mean that older posts or comments are automatically approved, made private, or deleted.
Administrators can still review and approve older posts or comments when they locate them in the News Feed.
